NUTSHELL

This season has been a major milestone for us in many regards. From manufacturing our ATV from scratch in a very limited time, to making it to the pedestal in as many as 3 different categories (Sales Presentation Event , Raftaar Event and Acceleration Event) and making it to 8 top 10s in all, we definitely came a long way. The sound of our ATV racing through the uneven tracks of Pithampur still reverberates in our hearts and motivates us to work even hard and prepare ourselves better for the upcoming season of BAJA SAE India.

TEAM

Firebolt Racing is the official off-road racing team of BIT Mesra. A team of 30 ardent automobile rookies from multi-disciplinary engineering streams make one of the most premier and well acclaimed automobile racing teams that is, in the country. Since the time of its inception, Firebolt Racing has nurtured love for automobiles in the students and fueled their passion for speed. In 2012, FR2.0, Firebolt Racing was appreciated by Dr. AJP Abdul Kalam and specially mentioned by judges for excellent performance in BAJA SAE INDIA 2012 which was one of the most proud moments for the team. With the knowledge of top-notch designing softwares and simulation techniques, ours has been a team riding high on perseverance and focus. We believe that a calm disposition and phlegmatic approach in times of adversity is of utmost importance in today's world.

COLLEGE

Birla Institute of Tehnology, Mesra, Ranchi established in 1955 by industrialist B.M. Birla, is one of the premier engineering destinations in India. Sprawling over 750 acres, the lush green campus is second home to more than 10,000 students for over six decades. BIT, apart from being the first institute in India to establish a department of space engineering and rocketry in association with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is also the first institute to provide young entrepreneurs with initial project funding. BIT houses the PARAM 10000 Supercomputer along with a Central Instrumentation Facility. BIT ensures that discipline is properly coupled with more than adequate share of fun and excitement. Students put in their very best to make the institute a great place to live and learn in.
